by Kellyn Uhelsky | Oct 03, 2016

Travel Insured International has been made aware that on September 28, 2016, a named Hurricane has been identified as Matthew per the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration* (“NOAA “). Hurricane Matthew formed in the Caribbean and could impact the southern United States. While many travel suppliers and airlines are trying to reroute flights, Travel Insured understands those with plans may have questions and they are encouraged to call us.

Travel Insured protection plans must have been purchased prior to the date when an event becomes foreseeable in order to be eligible for coverage. Protection plans do not provide coverage for policies purchased after the storm was named, but plans purchased on or before September 27, 2016, may have coverage for this storm.

Depending on your plan coverages may include benefits for Travel Delay if your trip is delayed, Missed Connection if you are delayed and need help in rejoining your trip, Trip Interruption if your trip is disrupted and Trip Cancellation if the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (“NOAA “) declared a hurricane warning within 48 hours of your departure. For insured travelers who purchased Cancel for Any Reason coverage, we remind you that cancellations must be made 48 or more hours prior to scheduled departure and payment is limited to 75% of the non-refundable trip cost up to the stated plan maximum limit.

Every Travel Insured plan also includes Non-Insurance Emergency Travel Assistance Services available 24/7 to help travelers whenever they are in need of assistance during their trip.

This statement only provides a general summary.  Please refer to your actual plan document for the specific terms and conditions of the specific plan purchased as eligibility for coverage varies based upon the specific plan terms, conditions and limitations, and may vary by state or may not be available in all states. Travel Insured recommends travelers purchase proper travel protection plans in case of unforeseen circumstances and to know where to go and where not to go during their travels.
