Why purchase travel protection for unexpected medical expenses?
Travel Insured provides coverage for medical expenses incurred during travel, particularly outside of the U.S., that health insurance providers may deny as out of network. With the Accident & Sickness Medical Expense benefit included in our plans, you can help ensure access to quality medical treatment wherever you travel and protect yourself from unexpected medical and evacuation expenses.
Our Worldwide Trip Protector plans include:
- Coverage for medical expense due to accident or sickness while you’re away
- Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption due to a medical reason affecting yourself, or your spouse, child, parent, domestic partner, or other family member (even if the other person is not insured or not traveling)
- Non-Insurance Travel Assistance Services:
- Hospital admission guarantee, with advance payment if required
- Physician-coordinated emergency evacuation and transportation home due to medical reasons

From U.S. State Department's Traveler's Checklist:
Get Insured: The U.S. State Department suggests making sure you have supplemental insurance coverage when you travel outside the U.S. Many foreign medical facilities will require cash payment up front, and some U.S. health insurance plans won't help abroad, including Medicare.
Coverage and benefit eligibility may vary by state.
