Frequently Asked Questions
Does my plan cover medical emergencies when traveling?
If you experience a medical emergency while traveling, our partner company, Robin Assist, is here to help. Their non-insurance assistance services include doctor referrals, prescription replacements, telemedicine, hospital admission guarantee, inoculation information, and return travel arrangements. Our goal is for you to relax and focus on why you're traveling. We are here, go be there!
Does travel insurance have benefits that cover delayed luggage?
A delayed arrival of your luggage during a trip might not feel as serious as a medical emergency, but it can still be a hassle. Thankfully, Travel Insured International has you covered. Our plans can help reimburse you to purchase the necessary personal items you while you wait for your bags to arrive. We know how frustrating disruptions can be, so our specialists work hard to make sure you have everything you need to keep your trip on track.
What events may not be covered by travel protection plans?
In general, there are several exclusions in your travel protection plan, which means certain circumstances may not provide you with coverage. You should refer to the appropriate plan document to review all exclusions. One example that is excluded from coverage is injuries suffered while engaging in adventure or extreme activities. You could purchase the Extreme Sports Medical Upgrade at an additional cost for the Platinum plan, if you want to waive this exclusion. Getting hurt while under the influence is another example that would not be covered under any of our plans. If you have any questions about the specifics of your Travel Insured International coverage, you're always welcome to reach out to our team of experts. We're more than willing to talk you through your plan and help you understand exactly what's covered.
Can I cancel my coverage if I can't go on my trip due to injury or illness?
Having to cancel your trip due to injury or illness could be covered under the Trip Cancellation benefit. You would need to start a claim with us to get any reimbursement.
However, if you are looking to cancel your protection plan, you can only do so under the 14-day free look period. As long as we receive notice within 14 days of the effective date of your coverage, you have not departed yet or filed a claim, we can cancel your plan and return the plan cost to you. Give us a call if you're concerned about the status of your trip, and our representatives will do whatever we can to help you.
Does the plan reimburse costs if my trip is interrupted or cut short?
Our plans include coverage if your trip has to be cut short. Depending on the plan you choose, you may be eligible to receive a percentage of your trip cost if you need to return home early, unexpectedly for covered reasons. Some of these may include a sudden illness or injury, complications of pregnancy, financial insolvency, inclement weather, theft of passports or a labor strike. This coverage helps you look forward to your trip with confidence knowing that you don't necessarily have to think about losing the full cost of your trip if the unthinkable happens. If you have any questions about the process or conditions, reach out and speak with a member of our team.
How do I file a claim, and how long will I need to wait to receive reimbursement?
As part of our commitment to providing our clients with robust coverage, Travel Insured International strives to make the claims process as smooth for them as we can. To begin, all you need to do is log into your account through our website and fill out the online steps. Once we receive notice of your claim, we will send you any forms you need to fill out, as well as a list of the documentation you may still need to provide for review and processing. Our team conducts a careful and thorough review of your claim, and one of our Claims Analysts will notify you if more information is required. You'll be notified as soon as we reach a decision, and any benefits will be paid out as soon as possible. If you have a payable claim, the time from approval to receiving payment depends on which payout method you select (check vs direct deposit) and possible other factors. We're more than willing to answer any questions you may have about the process, so get in touch with us today.
