Are losses caused by pre-existing conditions always excluded?
Have pre-existing conditions on your mind when traveling? Travel Insured's plans contain an exclusion for losses caused by pre-existing conditions. However, this exclusion can be waived if you purchase a plan within the time sensitive period (and meet additional eligibility requirements). If you qualify for the waiver, losses caused by pre-existing conditions can be covered.
Let's simplify the 2 requirements a traveler needs to meet to be eligible for the waiver with the Worldwide Trip Protector plan.
- Purchase at the right time: Purchase the plan within the time sensitive period provided in the plan document.
- Be physically able to travel: You must be medically able and not disabled from travel at the time your plan is purchased.
Example of How the 21 Day Time Sensitive Period Works
Day 1: Day after first trip payment received
Day 21: Last day for pre-ex waiver eligibility
Day 22 and beyond: Too late to get the waiver
FYI - You can still purchase a plan for other coverage, regardless of timing!
As always, it's important to read the Plan Document carefully to make sure you understand the coverage.
